Yard Waste Dumpster Rental across Dothan and the Wiregrass
Yards here make debris in bursts. Severe Alabama storms bring down branches and tree limbs; a landscaping redo pulls out plant beds, shrubs, sod and mulch all at once; spring and fall cleanups fill bag after bag. City of Dothan curbside pickup takes leaves, limbs and grass clippings from City homes in one pile — but limbs no longer than 5 feet or wider than 8 inches, and trees and limbs over 8 inches, their stumps, and landscape debris or tree parts from work done by a contractor are the owner's job (City Code § 82-20(h)). A container on the driveway takes all of it, the week it happens, with no bagging and no repeat trips.
Two things shape the job. Clean green waste is worth keeping clean: we direct green waste to approved composting, recycling or disposal facilities whenever possible, and household trash, plastic containers or treated lumber mixed in spoil that. And yard waste is bulky and light until it is not: soil, sod, wet leaves and stumps are heavy. We size for the mix.

Storm cleanup, tree work and landscape redos
Storm cleanup is the big one. Heavy rain and wind damage can leave fallen branches, tree limbs and damaged landscaping across a yard in an afternoon, and a 20 yard on the driveway takes the whole pile in one go.
Landscape and tree jobs are the planned version — shrubs, plant beds, mulch and overgrown vegetation out, a tree trimmed or removed with its branches, limbs, brush, logs and small stumps, spring and fall leaf cleanup, a rental property or a vacant lot tidied up, a yard landscaped before a sale. Tree and landscape crews have a rule of their own in several towns: Dothan leaves trash and landscape debris from contractor work to the owner or producer (§ 82-20(h)), Ozark makes tree surgeons, landscape contractors and anyone doing work on private property remove their own residue (Ozark Code § 10-26), and Abbeville makes citizens who hire tree work responsible for having the contractor remove the debris (Abbeville Code § 28-5). Landscapers and property managers can set up recurring pickups and longer-term rentals.
Soil, stumps and the weight line
Branches, brush and hedge trimmings are light. Soil, sod, wet leaves, stumps and roots are not. A 20 of brush is nowhere near its weight allowance; a 20 heaped with dirt is well over it. Tell us the mix and we will size it — usually a 15 or 20 for the green waste and, if there is a lot of soil, a 10 alongside, within the weight limit. Cut limbs and logs to fit so they load flat and stay level with or below the top edge.

Yard waste — the local specifics
Every town runs its own program, and none of them is built for a whole yard at once. Dothan's curbside pickup takes leaves, limbs and grass clippings from City homes in one pile per home, curbside and not in the street, with limbs no longer than 5 feet or wider than 8 inches. Houston County will not collect tree stumps or debris from land clearing or lot clearing, and it charges a minimum for contractor debris left on the county right-of-way. Headland cuts debris to a maximum of 5 feet and will not pick up debris contracted by a third party. Enterprise runs a grinding site for yard debris off Coppinville Road, for City residents only and with a Public Works permit. The Henry County Landfill near Abbeville lists yard debris among the materials it receives. A container is for the pile that is bigger, heavier or sooner than any of that. The what can and cannot go in guide explains what has to stay out of a green load.
Answers
Yard Waste Dumpster Rental — your questions answered
Do I need to bag or bundle the brush?
No. Load it as it comes — skip the bagging. Cut long limbs to fit, keep everything level with or below the top edge, and keep household trash, plastic and chemicals out of it.
Can I put dirt in a yard waste dumpster?
Yes — soil, sod and mulch are accepted. Soil is heavy, so it goes in a smaller box or its own load within the weight limit. Tell us it is part of the job when you book and we will plan the loads.
Can I put a whole tree in?
Cut to fit, yes — limbs, logs, branches and small stumps are fine. Big stumps and root balls are heavy, so tell us about them and we help you stay within the weight limit.
How fast after a storm can you deliver?
Same-day or next-day delivery may be available, depending on scheduling — call before noon for the best chance. If the week after a storm is busy, we tell you honestly when to expect the container.
Do you recycle green waste?
Whenever possible. Green waste is directed to approved composting, recycling or disposal facilities to reduce landfill impact, so a clean load matters — keep treated lumber, plastic containers and household trash out of it.
