Roll-off dumpster rental in Ozark
Approx. 22 road miles from the yard, around 32 minutes.
Ozark is approx. 22 road miles northwest of the yard, around 32 minutes — same-day or next-day delivery depending on availability, once the City's rules for the job are checked. It is a city of 14,368 at the 2020 Census, in Dale County.
Ozark Public Works runs garbage service (§ 10-22), and City crews “will no longer be able to pick up any construction debris” — shingles, drywall, plaster, lumber, concrete, roofing, brick, carpet, fixtures, windows, doors, fencing, insulation, siding or paint. Building debris is the owner's to have privately moved (§ 10-26(a)(5)). For commercial garbage and trash, though, the code names the City or a contractor licensed and permitted by the City (§ 10-27), so a roll-off job here starts with the City's rules.

Local knowledge
Getting our bearings in Ozark
Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.
- Commercial garbage and trash — collected by the City or “a commercial garbage contractor who is licensed by and has a current permit from the city” (§ 10-27).
- Contractor terms — a City business licence, a list of commercial customers and a monthly payment of 3% of gross receipts from customers in city limits (§ 10-33).
- Construction debris — City crews no longer pick it up; new-construction debris is the owner's or contractor's to remove (§ 10-26(a)(5)–(6)).
- Whole-house clean-outs — the City asks you to contact Public Works before the work starts.
- No street obstructions — nothing may obstruct the free passage or proper use of a street, alley or sidewalk (§ 16-1).
- Public Works — 275 N. Union Ave, (334) 774-1851.
What comes out of Ozark properties
Roofing in 10s and 20s, remodels in 20s, whole-house clean-outs in 20s and 30s, and new construction or demolition in 30s and 40s. Everything Public Works now leaves behind — shingles, drywall, lumber, concrete, carpet, windows, doors, siding — goes in the container. Fence companies, tree services and landscapers working on private property remove their own residue (§ 10-26(a)(7)).
What goes in: wood, drywall, flooring, furniture, household junk, yard waste, roofing shingles, branches and brush, construction debris and small non-hazardous appliances. What doesn't: paints and solvents, oils and fuels, tires, batteries, hazardous chemicals, medical waste, gas cylinders, propane tanks, flammable materials and refrigerators that still hold refrigerant — that's our own list, not a state ban. Alabama's rules: regulated hazardous waste can't go to an ordinary non-hazardous landfill (ADEM 335-13-4-.21(1)(h)), every permitted landfill screens loads for free liquids, regulated hazardous, medical and PCB wastes (335-13-4-.21(1)(b)), free liquids are barred at construction and demolition landfills (335-13-4-.23(1)), and carrying more than eight scrap tires at once needs an ADEM transporter permit (Code of Ala. § 22-40A-7). Our what can and can't go in a dumpster in Alabama guide covers the rest. Ozark residents can take waste oil to the site the City provides at the Public Works department (§ 10-31(9)), and the City's Environmental Services picks up metal, scrap tires and electronic waste.

Sizes
Choosing a container size in Ozark
Weight is what usually decides the size, not how much room the pile takes up.

| 30 Yard Dumpster | about 22 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 6 ft high | about 9 pickup truck loads | 4–5 tons | Full-home and multi-room renovations, estate and move-out cleanouts, office and retail remodels, light demolition, construction cleanup and community or property cleanups. |
| 40 Yard Dumpster | about 22 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 8 ft high | about 12 pickup truck loads | 5–6 tons | Commercial construction and renovations, demolition projects, full-property remodels, warehouse and office cleanouts, large roofing jobs and large event cleanups. |
Permits, placement and who may haul in Ozark
Who may haul — read this first: “The collection of all commercial garbage and trash shall be provided by the City of Ozark Public Works Department or a commercial garbage contractor who is licensed by and has a current permit from the city” (§ 10-27). Every business must subscribe to City service or an approved contractor (§ 10-24); a contractor needs a City business licence, files its customer list and pays 3% of gross receipts monthly (§ 10-33); and one without a valid City licence can't operate in city limits, whatever the private contract (§ 10-34). Building debris is the owner's to have privately moved (§ 10-26(a)(5)). We check the City's rules before booking a container in Ozark. We're licensed and insured.
In the street: “No person shall obstruct or endanger, or place or permit anything to obstruct or endanger, the free passage or proper use of the public of any street, alley or sidewalk of the city” (§ 16-1), and we found no street-container permit. No waste on streets, sidewalks or alleys unless it's in a container (§ 10-29). Driveway or job site only. You don't need to be home as long as we have clear instructions on where it goes and the spot is free of vehicles and obstacles. Allow approximately 60 feet of access for the truck; we use protective boards when needed to help prevent driveway damage.
Parking: nothing heavier than a three-quarter-ton truck may be left on a residential street for more than two hours, except while loading or unloading (§ 17-34). The truck sets the container and goes.
Business licence: required for any business working in the city limits or police jurisdiction of Ozark (City revenue page).
State highways: US-231 runs through Ozark. ALDOT says any use of the state right-of-way other than normal vehicle traffic is prohibited without its written permission (Permit Manual 11.2), and its manual has no dumpster or container permit — so beside a state or US highway the container goes on private property, never in the right-of-way. We check the exact address.
Covered loads: Alabama bars driving a vehicle on a highway unless it's built or loaded so nothing drops, sifts, leaks or escapes (Code of Ala. § 32-5-76(b)), and trucks hauling garbage and rubbish must be covered, secured or sealed (§ 22-27-3(f)). Keep debris level with or below the top edge — an overfilled container can't legally be hauled.
Remodel or tear-down: ADEM wants a 10-day notification before any demolition, with or without asbestos, and before a renovation that removes at least 260 linear feet, 160 square feet or 35 cubic feet of regulated asbestos-containing material. Privately owned homes of four or fewer units that stay residential are exempt, unless they're part of a larger project. Friable asbestos goes out as special waste whatever the amount, and regulated asbestos is removed by an ADEM-certified abatement contractor. Asbestos never goes in our containers; tell us if you find any.

How it works
Booking a dumpster in Ozark
Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.
Step 1: Call and tell us the job
One short conversation. We ask the address in Dothan or the town around it, what you are clearing — a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard, a job site — what is going in, roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.
Step 2: We size it and quote it flat
We recommend the right size, so you do not pay for space you will not use or run out of room, and you get a flat-rate quote that covers delivery, pickup, disposal, the standard rental period and an included weight allowance. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.
Step 3: Delivered where you want it
The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, on a flat, solid surface rather than the lawn, with protective boards on request. Often same-day or next-day, when availability allows. You do not need to be home if the spot is marked and clear.
Step 4: Load it at your pace
Keep it level with or below the top edge and keep the problem items out — paint and solvents, oil and fuel, hazardous chemicals, batteries, tires, propane tanks and gas cylinders, flammable materials, medical waste, asbestos, and appliances still holding refrigerant. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.
Step 5: We pick it up and handle the disposal
Call when it is full or the job is done and we schedule a prompt pickup. The load is covered or tarped for the road and goes to an approved disposal or recycling facility, with metal, concrete, cardboard and yard debris recycled whenever possible.

Local answers
Dumpster rental in Ozark — common questions
Can I get a roll-off in Ozark?
City code keeps commercial garbage and trash to the City or a City-licensed and permitted contractor (Sec. 10-27), while building debris is the owner's to have privately moved (Sec. 10-26). We check the City's rules before booking a container in Ozark. Call (334) 686-0763.
Will Ozark Public Works pick up construction debris?
No. City crews no longer pick up construction debris, including shingles, drywall, lumber, concrete, roofing, brick, carpet, windows, doors, fencing, insulation, siding or paint.
Can a dumpster go in an Ozark street?
No. City code bars anything that obstructs the free passage or proper use of a street, alley or sidewalk (Sec. 16-1), and we found no street permit. The driveway or job site is the spot.
I'm cleaning out a whole house in Ozark. Anything to know?
The City asks people cleaning out entire houses to contact Public Works before starting, (334) 774-1851. A container handles the volume.
